The Cleanse

So, as many of you already know, André and I are doing our old annual cleanse (we haven't done it since Costa was born, eek!) and we wanted to share our program and some helpful tips if you want to join along too. We do it for 30 days and it is really after the second week you start to feel the benefits...so hang in there if you are feeling lousy in the beginning. It is just your body getting out all those toxins. I'll be posting meal inspo and recipes on Instagram and InstaStories all month! Let's do this!

 

THE CLEANSE

No Gluten
No Dairy
No Alcohol
No Refined Sugar
Limit of 1-2 pieces of fruit a day
Limited Caffeine - a cup of green tea or a cup of black coffee

 

THINGS YOU CAN EAT:

Protein like chicken, beef, fish, etc.
Beans
Veggies
Gluten Free grains like brown rice and quinoa
Eggs
Dairy free milk substitutes like almond or coconut milk
Nut Butters
Good fats like olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil

 

THINGS TO PREP THAT WILL MAKE LIFE EASIER:

Batch of quinoa
Batch of brown rice
Carrots cut up and stored in water in the fridge
Hummus
Oven roasted chicken breasts
Guacamole
Salsa
Black Beans
Oven roasted vegetables like zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli
Simple salad dressing
Wash all your lettuces and bag them for easy use

 

IDEAS FOR MEALS/SNACKS:

Smoothies - great for breakfast. Make sure to include fat and protein.
Loaded up salads with chicken, chickpeas, avocado, veggies
Hummus and crudités
GF Toast with Peanut Butter, Coconut Butter, and Bee Pollen
GF Avocado Toast
Fish Tacos on corn tortillas
Burrito Bowls
Oven roasted chicken and veggies
Any kind of fish over rice with a salad on the side
Lentil salads
Popcorn with Amino Acids and Braggs Nutritional Yeast
Omelettes or frittatas with veggies
Kale chips 
Chia seed pudding
Brown rice crackers with Peanut Butter
Sunflower seeds
